What is walk and talk therapy?

Walk and Talk therapy is a wonderful way to get the same benefits of traditional talk psychotherapy while enjoying the restorative and healing effects that movement in nature offers. We meet at a predetermined location in Oakville and walk along well-maintained and relatively flat trails at a pace set by you.
Movement promotes the release of feel-good brain chemicals which has a positive effect on the mind and mood. For many people, the invigorating fresh air, sunshine and surrounding nature contributes to a sense of aliveness and well-being.

Can I try it? What if I decide that I prefer online counselling instead?

As a new client, your first session will be online. At that time I will give you all the details you need to decide if walk and talk therapy is something you’d like to try. Some clients will prefer virtual counselling from the comfort of their private space and will forgo walk and talk therapy. Others like to do both, depending on their amount of time and the weather!
