My Therapeutic Approach
I use proven therapeutical techniques rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.
I strive to develop an ideal action plan that highlights your inherent strengths, recognizes your unique needs as a client and helps you live a fuller life.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is one of today’s leading forms of evidence-based therapy. In CBT you will learn how your thinking and behaviour influence your current situation. By developing new thinking strategies and by implementing small behavioural changes you will learn how to address specific problems more effectively. In studies, CBT has been shown to be as effective as medications.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, known as “ACT” (pronounced like the word “act”) is a mindfulness-based behavioural therapy that promotes psychological flexibility. ACT offers the necessary skills that bring you more fully into the here and now and help you to effectively address difficult thoughts and feelings. ACT helps you reconnect with your inherent values and encourages you to use them to build the life that you want through committed action.
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy builds upon the principles of cognitive therapy. Techniques such as mindfulness meditation teaches you to consciously pay attention to your thoughts and feelings without placing any judgments upon them. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy fosters self-compassion and provides you with the tools needed to let go of difficult emotional states.
"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony."
